did you run the network setup wizard. Although you are
only connecting two computers you are indeed trying to
network. Make sure you have files on both computers
"shared" and make sure they are both on the same workgroup.
Then they both need to have ip addresses on the same
subnet. i.e. 192.168.0.x make pc number one 192.168.0.1
and pc 2 should be 192.168.0.2. that will let them talk.
