O/E, change Identities?,cant access?

Hi,

I am new to windows XP,having bought a new Laptop with it
installed on yesterday. I am trying to set up an
additional identity for work use, I have been able to set
it up, but now cannot access it. When I go to file/switch
identities/ highlight the other other identities and
press OK, I still am at my main, default identiy?, What
have I done , or am doing wrong/. Help appreciated,
