Computer Not Seeing Network

I have a network in the house here with 2 Windows 98 machines and
another with XP Pro. I just added another XP Pro comp, but I can't
get it to talk with the network. It can't see the other comps on the
network, and the others can't see it. When I first put the computer
in the network, it worked fine. But I formatted the drive and
reinstalled Windows, and now it won't work on the network. All the
comps have NetBEUI, they're all in the same workgroup with different
names, and the firewall provided in XP is disabled.

Anyone have helpful ideas or suggestions?

Here's something you might want to try. Instead of setting up the network to
include a modem, set up the small office network, discounting the modem.
In my case it worked, but I did have a Windows re-install on one of the
puters in the interim, but I figure it might be worth a shot.
I had the same problem as you, and it hung in for a year or so, b4 it got
resolved this past weekend.
