the moment I start up my XP Pro I`ve lost the connection
with my gateway and the other computer, but i still have
my internet connection through my LAN card...pinging the
gateway gets no response, pinging other computers still
gets nothing.
the only remedy I`ve found is to reinstall the LAN driver
over and over again every time this happens... I`m using
a Repotec LAN CArd with a Realtek 8139 d chipset, I`ve
used every driver I could find, including MS certified
drivers - the problem`s the same! all the Data is fine,
including the LAN settings(TCP/IP protocol, workgroup
etc), no Sys manager problems, no conflicting hardware,
I`ve tried switching PCI`sn on my Gigabyte KT400
mainboard - nothing happened, reinstalled the LAN card
every time, reinstalled my OS with a previous formatting
of th HDD, the only way this worked is when I switched
computers with an older one with Win 98 on it... I
suspected a virus(worm) - nothing I`m using both Norton
AV 2003 and KASPERSKY AV both updated to the
day...nothing!
Any Ideeas?!!
i`ve run out of them....Please, post them all so I could
exclude the ones I know already...(if anything like this
is possible - as there is always another solution you`ve
never thought of :-))
