recycle bin icon

There is no "recycle bin" icon on my desktop. How do I
establish one?

Depends how you removed it.

Look here in the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Hide=
DesktopIcons\NewStartPanel
and make sure
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} is equal to 0.

Post back if that's not how you removed it.
