System Restore doesn't work

Trying to uninstall an outdated cd-r system and assoc.
drivers, I attempted to use system restore to undo the
damage. I have tried all available dates, the system runs
then restarts and tells me it was unable to restore.
Any suggestions or help would be most appreciated.

There is only one solution to this problem - disable SR and re-enable it.
This will cause you to lose all points, but it will it should correct the
problem in the future. One question; do you have any form of Real Player
installed? That has been known to cause problems with SR.
