Windows Media Player 9 update problem

I tried installing Windows Media Player 9 but it never completed. Both the
download and install progress bars were fully filled, but it just hung at
the end. After waiting two hours for it to complete I closed the windows.
If I look in the installation history it lists Windows Media Player 9 series
as "In Progress". What should I do?

Also, I have McAfee AV on my machine (new Dell 2350). I tried to disable it
before doing this update, but couldn't find where to. So I did the update
with this on. Could this be the problem? I've had this on for other
updates, and so far it hasn't caused any problems.

Go to Start | Run and type

msconfig

Go to the Startup tab ind uncheck everything from McAfee.
Restart the computer.
