I am trying to network 2 pc's both runnung xp. I have a
pc line 5 port fast ethernet switch. I have connected
all cables etc. i have 2 green lights and two orange ones
showing on the box. when i try to use network wizard it
says that some hardware is not running (on both p.c's)but
i can choose to ignore - i checked box for choose to
ignore and it said 'almost done' (on both p.c's)after a
couple of minutes. i then turn both p.c's off and on a
couple of times to no avail. i still dont have 4 green
lights on the box and my internet connection (freeserve
broadband) does not work so i have to sytem restore to
get back on line. I have checked hardware and its
states 'installed and running' and i tried to update
driver but it siad i had the best software avalibale
already running. Now is my problem something to do with
the fact that it is saying that my ethernet thingy is
connected when i try the network wizard or something
else. this problem is doing my head really! i have tried
loads of times to sort it and my freind has a lot more
space on his disk and its a sheame we canoot network.
can anyone help me before i get arrested for assalt on a
p.c!!! thanks - steve
