I recently upgraded a Dell laptop from WinMe to WinXP.
Unfortunately, I did not flash an upgrade to the Dell ROM
and had to revert to the Me operating system to get the
computer running again.
After downloading and installing the ROM upgrade, I re-
installed WindowsXP (Home)and the computer seems to
function normally now. the Problem is I now have a
duplicate Documents and Settings Folder. They are now
set up as follows"
Documents and Settings
All Users
Default
Documents and Settings.000
All Users
Default
Default User
Bill
What should I do to resolve this problem. A clean
install would require a lot of work reinstalling
application software and it seems to me that this must
occur enough (re-installs) that there is a procedure to
follow to fix it.
Thanks
