destroyed?

(older computers wont run it)

Your license to use XP expired with the death of the computer. OEM are =
to be thought of as a lease, and the time period is the life of the =
computer.

It is now best used as a coaster.
OEM are normally permanently tied to the first computer regardless of
the condition of the computer.
For all practical purposes your license to use Windows XO burned up
with the computer.
Another of the many reasons OEM is cheaper than retail.

If there was an insurance claim, include Windows as part of the claim.

Then in effect that license has been destroyed too, and your should take
that into account in any insurance claim
