DSL Modem and Cable Modem Quit Working

I am having problems with my connection to the internet, I
left my house with my modem connected. When I returned I
could no longer browse the internet. I can ping IP's but
that is it. I tried re-installing my software for the DSL
modem, but it says it cannot find my DSL Gateway (modem).
What could have happend while I left? I thought maybe a
new virus, but I cannot find any with McAfee. I tried DSL
support but that was a dead end as well, nobody can figure
out what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
