Typing Lockup

When typing text or data documents whether it be e-mail (Netscape) or
word Corel, my XP locks up after just a few key strokes. Any solution.

Do you get an error? Do you have this problem with WordPad?

No error message or any indication of what may be wrong. While typing
the machine just quits recording the letters even though I continue
typing. After a pause, it will catch up. Does the same if I am
backspacing or deleting letters. Just ran a quick composition with
Wordpad. Seems to be working fine there, although I did have trouble
before until I deleted some of the items In the "msconfig/ startup" to
reduce the load. Haven't had this problem with old computer. Most
disconcerting. Bob.
