I just updated from Win.Me to Win.XP and have trouble
clicking on my Links for Microsoft Update-"page cannot be
found"always pops up.
Also, XP doesn't offer Microsoft Word nor does Outlook
Express have a spelling checker.Can I download a spell
checker or would it be easier to download Word. If I can
do this, how do I do it?

the only way your going to have a spell checker in OE is to install word. XP
doesnt include word as part of the Operating System. and there is no legal
way of downloading Word from the internet youll have to purchase or if you
had a previous version of Word install that. also have you tried going to
windows update manually www.windowsupdate.com ?

As you found out,OE does not come with a spelling checker. It uses the
spelling checker from any other 32-bit Microsoft program that has one. If
you do not have have such a program you could try one of these:

Free spellchecker.
