Hi,

What Win98 files? What CD are you placing in the drive? Start/run =
winver, what does this tell you about your version of Windows?

Hi' I can relate to J.Ts problem, my brother has a compaq w/XP, he had a bootup
problem, i posted question and someone gave me the site to go to to repair
problem, while trying to walk him through it and when i told him to install the disc, his also said
Welcome to Windows 98, it blew my mind too! This is the disc he got with
his unit, so i guess sh-t happens, and the worst thing about it is that
Circuit City told him that's the disc to use, make a long story short, he
paid someone that knows what there doing to fix the problem, so go easy on J.T.

Please elaborate: Do these coexist as a multiboot system, or was it a full
upgrade and you just want to remove the backed up 98 content?

More broadly, the more you can tell us about how you did the XP
installation, the better answer we can give. I'm also copying this response
to a Win XP newsgroup where you're more likely to get the best responses
(since this is really a Win XP issue and not a Win 98 issue).
