windows xp hotfix

I was going into the control panel to delete Gazaa, which
my son downloaded, anyway, I saw about 20 programs for
windows xp hotfix. What are they? I dont recall
downloading any program like that. Do I need them? Can I
remove them safely without hurting my computer? And, last
but not least, will this slow down my computer? Also, I
play alot of games like Bingo, and slots, I delete my
temporary files on a daily basis, will this hurt my
computer?Sorry for all the guestions , but im a new one
to the net. Thanks for any help I can get!
