How do I keep the dialog in the attached image from coming up all the time?
It happens when I try to run a program from a NETWORK SHARE.

Note, the "Always ask before opening this type of file" checkbox is
DISABLED

Please do NOT post attachments to any MS group - they are plain text only
and attachments are forbidden. Don't be so lazy and type the error in the
body of your post. You are severely limiting the amount of assistance you
receive by adding an attachment, as most servers strip them from plain-text
groups.

Thank you

Who forbids them?

I ask out of interest as I cannot see anywhere that says they are.

The Microsoft Rules of conduct (that I have seen) make no mention of binary
posts or attachments.
I am aware of the long standing etiquette of text only groups, yet if you
are new, how would you know they were text only?

It is standard, if you want to post attachments, to ask in the group.
As far as I can see Amethyst was just putting the poster on the right track.

Who are you the NG police? I see nothing that prohibits this.

That's what the F**k is wrong with the M$ newsgroups, too many Chiefs and
not enough Indians.

The main reason for which, was pointed out to you by Cass.
Many people can't see the attachment.

Now, this "forum", actually a newsgroup, is a good source
of help, as long as you do a little bit of research to
help yourself initially.

Here's another tip :-

View/global options/encoding/

uncheck "Start attachments in a separate article".

BUT, only post attachments when asked - a better way is to
upload to webspace, and post a link.

FWIW, there is an answer by Barney posted against the 1/1
entry

Hey Barney,

I'm not having a go at Cassandra, I understand.
Just taking exception to the term forbidden <g>
