I have had three XP Pro systems and one Win98SE system networked for over
one year. No problem: passwords and permissions for Shares have all been
setup for some time. In the last week, I've lost the ability to access
anything, including the shares on the current computer I'm using. I can't
see those shares in Network Neighborhood and I am in the permissions. I
can't even open the common workgroup! It says I don't have the necessary
permissions! Well, I did for the past year.

Something has changed, and I believe it is in WinXP Pro and probably due to
a recent Windows Upgrade patch. I'm not going to much around with settings
that have worked for over a year. Any insight?

Thanks for any replies!

Just my Microsoft paranoia getting the best of me.

My son had messed with the router, forwarding ports 20 and 21 to his system.
Don't know why, but it screwed up the whole network. I did a "soft" factory
reset on the router and this corrected the problem. No, I'm not stupid, I
had already done a full reset with the LinkSys Reset button. I don't know
why that didn't clear it up, but the "soft" reset from the web configuration
panel did the trick.
