View Full Version : Why can't I share a folder on C?

Hi.
I created c:\NewFolder on a peer-to-peer network.
Unlike folders in Docs&Settings, the Security tab doesn't
offer "Everyone". The sharing tab does. Anyway, the
network can see NewFolder, and NewFolder\SubFolder, but
can't access or see any of the files. "Access Denied" is
the message.

What's wrong?

Thanks
Michael

If you have access to the security tab,the I guess you
have Simple File Sharing disabled.

Windows Explorer;
R-click the shared folder;
Sharing and Securtiy;
Security tab;
Add..
Leave 'Object Types' at 'Users, Groups....';
'From this Location' should be your PC;
( asuming you are not in a domain )
Advanced...;
Find Now;
Scroll down the list to 'Everyone'.

( or just type 'everyone' in the box, and click Check Names.
It will get underlined if it's recognised. )
