Hello,

I am having a problem with my Windows XP Pro client
loosing connection to a Windows 2000 server. I will try
to detail the issue(s) that I beleive are causing the
problem by giving a coupel of examples. If that does not
help, feel free to email me to ask any questions you
think will be able to help you help me. Thanks in
advance for all the thoughts and help.

EX 1: I come into the office on Monday morning and turn
on the computer, login and begin my workday. At some
point in the day I leave my desk for whatever reason. I
return and try to access anything on the network and I
get a long wait and finally a login pop-up. I enter the
login and pw and it re-pops. It will keep doing this
until I get frustrated and stop puttign in my login and
pw. I have even tried the admin login and pw, as that is
me as well. I am not sure how long I have to be away
(inactive) at my computer on the network for this to
phenomenom to occur.

EX 2: I come into the office Tuesday morning after
leaving the computer on all night. I am unable to access
any of the network connections or folders as above. It
runs through the same process.

So what I know is that for some amount of inactivity the
network will not maintain its connection. The wierd
thing is that I am still able to conenct to the internet
though the network router.

Any ideas of where I can begin. It is frustrating to
have to reboot mid-morning, if I leave the network
connection inactive for a bit.

1. try to disable power manager on connection properties.
2. or disable autodisconenction on the server by using net config server
command.
