I upgraded -- where did my old Desktop go?

I upgraded from Win95 to Win XP and I am missing some
folders containing documents that had been on my Win95
Desktop (c:\windows\desktop).

Where are the contents of the old desktop?

Hi Mitchell,

WinXP does not upgrade a Win95 system, though it (95) can be used as a =
qualifier for a clean installation using the Upgrade disk. WinXP would =
have completely overwritten the old system, and the files are probably =
lost.

Start/search/files and look for any vestiges of the old folders under =
perhaps a saved user profile, though I doubt they remain.
