need help!

i am a novice with computers so bare with me.
i keep getting downloads information from windows xp. i
was away for awhile so they go back to feb. ,2003. i
think i already downloaded the pack 1 windows 6,how can
i tell if it is insatalled? also do i have install after
i download? and can i download without being on line?
as you can see i need help. thanks

1. To tell if you have SP1 installed:
right click on My Computer, click Properties, on the General tab you
will see SP! listed if it is installed.
2. The updates will install automatically after downloading.
3. You can't download without being on line.
