Running a small network with a Windows 2000 Server, 2
workstations and a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop. When I
first got the laptop I was able to easily make it a
domain machine but I was doing some diagnostics one night
and to make a long story short, I hosed the laptop. I
formatted and reinstalled Win XP Pro but now I'm having
trouble joining the domain. I keep getting the error
message "The Specified Server Cannot Perform the
Requested Operation". The machine is being recognized and
created on the Server but towards the end of the process,
it gets disabled and I get the error. Is there a setting
I'm missing. Microsoft says it's because either TCP/IP is
not intalled or bound(?). This is not the case however.
I've uninstalled the nic from device manager and
reinstalled upon startup but to no avail. Any ideas?
Thanks,
