I have windows xp that came with my new computer; I'd
like to eliminate the opening sign on screen.
How can I do this?

1. Select Start - Run and type "control userpasswords2" (without quotes)
2. On the resulting window, clear 'User must enter a user name and password
to use the computer' and click OK
3. Now, you will be prompted to enter the user id/password that should be
used to logon automatically (skip Welcome screen). Enter the user
id/password and click OK
Another option is to install the TweakUI powet toy from Microsoft
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp) and use the
Auto logon feature in it.
Hope this helps.
