My logon process changed when I (mistakenly) applied the ".net" framework
during an xp update. The computer use to boot directly to the desktop when
I turned it on. Now it goes to a logon screen. I tried restoring it back
by unchecking the box "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer" in my user account. However, now a message comes up saying: "This
system could not log you on. Make sure your user name and domain are
correct, then type your password again." If I click "o.k." then it goes to
the usual chess pieces picture with my name, which, if I click, and then
asks for my password, etc.
So I am wondering what else I need to do to boot directly to the desktop, as
before. Should I:
1) remove my password (make it a blank)?
2) remove the asp.net account that was installed with the .net framework?
3. uninstall the .net framework (if possible)?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks again for the help.
