I can't see the workgroup computers

I've installed 2 different copies of windows xp but i
still can't see the workgroup computers my other friends
can see each other but i can't see them and they can't
see me i was able to see everyone before but now i can't
i mean i can connect to them while they're playing a game
on lan but for a limited time. This is getting really
annoying so i'm asking u is this a driver or lan card
problem?
