Is there a setting to change so that the status bar
remains checked all the time

Hi Jim,

For WIndows Explorer or Internet Explorer?

For WE, enable the status bar, then click tools/folder options/view tab, =
click "apply to all folders".

For IE, enable the status bar, then close Internet Explorer using =
ctrl+file/exit.
