Thanks for your reply and you made things a little
clearer for me. It turns out that I am tring to load
Ofice, XP Standard Upgrade, from my old computer to the
new one that has XP Home os. I believe the original Word
2000, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc, were installed from
Office Suite 2000 but this won't load onto my new system.
Does this ean I can't use any of the ms 2000 products
from ms suite?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings --

In order to use an Office XP Upgrade CD on the new computer, you
must first have an earlier version of Office installed, or possess an
earlier Office license that can be legally transferred to the new
computer. (If the Office 2K that is on the old laptop is a retail
license, you can remove it from the old laptop and then use it to
qualify for the upgrade on the new computer. If, however, the Office
2K was an OEM license, it is not transferable to the new computer.)
