Hi, Ryan -
You realize disabling opportunistic locking is liable to
cause a performance hit on the server, right?
That said, it's also my understanding that OpLock
settings must match. Please note that the registry
locations are not the same for servers and workstations.
For servers the keys have to be created in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Lanma
nServer\Parameters
and for workstations they'd be in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Lanma
nWorkstation\Parameters
OpLocks are enabled by default in both servers and
workstations. The appropriate registry kepys will need
to be created to disable opportunistic locking.
