View Full Version : Win xp upgrade authentication problems

I upgraded a WinNT workstation to XP a few days ago. Now
the workstation won't authenticate to the Win2K server.
When I ask about the shared drives I get a message
like "The system has detected an attempt to compromise
security. Please be sure you can communicate to the
server that authenticated you."

When I unjoin from the domain, delete the machine account
from the server, then rejoin the domain from the
workstation, I get the profile and authentication. On a
reboot, however, the system doesn't actually authenticate
and I get the above message. Also, when i try to detach
the mapped drives to the server, MyComputer freezes and I
can't detach.

Short of a clean install, does anyone have a direction for
fixing this problem?

TIA

Gregg
