Lately my computer has been (gasp) freezing and when I check the "Event
Viewer" (neat MS:) in Administrative Tools, it shows "True Vector Engine" as
the culprit. When I shut ZA down, the crashes stop and my XP is back to
it's stable self. Anyone else had this problem? Does the XP firewall
work well? I checked and it's not active. TIA

The XP firewall Only blocks incoming items where ZA blocks incoming
and notifies you of outgoing attempts also which is important.
I'm running ZA and like it.
Have you tried REinstalling ZA ?

Yup. Did that last week and my system behaved normally until today and I
didn't change anything or make any adjustments to it.

ZA blocks outgoing???? Why in gods name would you ever
want to install a firewall to stop yourself from doing
something malicious? If you are the type to do this then
why would you want ZA and if you aren't then why would you
want ZA. I have heard of tons of conflicts with machines
running XP and ZA and it's not a product I would
recommend. The internal firewall is excellent and if you
test it on any firewall testing site you will see that it
rates as one of the top five in preventing access to your
system. I tested it on 10 sites and not one was able to
access my system. Good luck.

I ran ZA free and it wreaked havoc on my XP.

Well all I can say is,
I ran ZA free version with ME on this PC and all was OK.
I upgraded to XP on same PC and now have version 3.7 of ZA
and all is still OK.

I like knowing and controlling what programs want to access the Internet

I use Win XP SP1 and Zone Alarm Pro 3.7.159, I don't have any problems
with either, maybe you have a problem somewhere else in either the
software or hardware. Zone Alarm has excellent help files installed
or you can go the web site for help.

Zone Alarm and ZA Pro often play well with Windows XP, but not always. You
can uninstall ZA and try Sygate Personal Firewall if you like.
http://download.com.com/3001-2092-10184369.html It's certainly every bit as
good as Zone Alarm.

After uninstalling ZA and reinstalling it, the True Vector crashes have
stopped. At least for now. Went to a ZA NG and there were alot of users
with the same problem so this might be an XP/ZA issue.

Out of nowhere yesterday I had a crash because of ZA Pro. The code said
something about kernel32.dll Re-boot and all was well, but my nerves.
