Last week I installed all 12 CRITICAL updates to my XP
system. This past week I went back and installed the half-
dozen or so "recommended updates." In doing so I've
caused my WIRELESS Home LAN connection to cease working.
Apparently there's a "WEP" requirement that was installed
during one of these updates that I wasn't familiar with
and I can't make use of BRCAUSE there are currently 2
othere PC's on this network that are legacy OS's (don't
use WEP technology) so my problem/challenge is that I
need to remove/uninstall/back out the "update" that made
the change to my OS/settings. I can go to the software
that tests/configures the wireless NIC and tell the
interface to connect, which it does but only for about 2
seconds and then it drops the connection because it's
looking for the "WEP" requirements and since they're not
there I lose the connection. Can anyone help me resolve
this mess I've gotten myself into? I would be VERY
GRATEFUL if you can help me with this issue.
