The cisvc.exe file which I understand is an indexing file
that is part of XP seems to be using a high pertentage of
my CPU's. Between this and a Norton security program I
installed i'm running like mud. Any suggestions.

I think cisvc.exe is a service that monitors cidaemon.exe, which actually
does the indexing. You can turn off the indexing by typing "services.msc"
into the Run box and then looking for the Indexing Service. Notice the
three options in the pane to your left there.

Most users do not need the Indexing Service running on their systems, but it
is enabled by default when XP is installed. Go to start/Run, type:
services.msc and press OK. Scroll down to the Indexing Service, double
click it and set it to Disabled in the Start Up Type drop down menu. Click
the Stop button to stop the service.
