Though I am enjoying the many new features of XP over
98, I need two programs from windows 98 desperately for
work. Power point and Excel. I have successfully
attempted to open Excel files under Spreadsheet, however,
macros (as explained in help) are not recognized by
spreadsheet and the spacing as well as multiple pages
does not transfer. I have to work at home on occasion so
you can understand my question. Can I install ONLY Excel
and powerpoint from my windows 98 CD? I would be
grateful for any input.

PowerPoint and Excel are Microsoft Office programs. They are not
on your Windows 98 CD. They are on a Microsoft Office CD and can
be installed on Windows XP once you find the Microsoft Office CD.
