I have a lot of programs several that extend past the 4
visable columns in the program listings. If I set it to
scroll it takes forever to get from the top to the bottom.
Is there any way to hide the less frequently used
programs?
I am using XP-Home and don't care if it's in the scroll
form or not.
Thanks to all that help.

It's best to organize them into folders.
Start\ Settings\ Taskbar and Start Menu on the Start Menu tab click
customize.
Then click advanced and then open the Programs folder and create some
folders inside it such as Hardware, Media, Online, Games, Graphics, Utility
etc. then close all open windows.
Go to your Start Menu and start dragging and dropping items into each folder
till you have things organized the way you want them.
Delete all duplicates is something else I do many programs are notorious for
placing an Icon on the desktop, in the taskbar, in the start menu, and in a
folder on the start menu. I usually delete everything except the folder as
it usually has the help files, readme.txt, setup program etc.

Not using the New Start Menu. If you go back to the Classic Start Menu, you
can enable the Use Personalized Menus option.
