I am a new user. I have a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion model 733n computer
with Windows XP and MSN 8 mail. The spell checker does not work in the
mail program.
I can write a message in Word Perfect and spell check it, and then cut
and paste it into the write mail area, and then send it. That is very
inconvenient. Would someone please tell me how to get the spell checker
in my mail? There is a place for it, but it doesn't work. When I look
at my programs, it indicates that the spell checker is not installed.
I would appreciate any help you can give me..

If you are using Outlook Express for email, the program uses the
spell checker from Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel or Microsoft
PowerPoint. If you do not have either of those programs, the spell
checker is disabled. There are several freeware and shareware spell
checkers out there. You have to search for them.

OE does not come with a spelling checker. It uses the spelling checker from
any other 32-bit Microsoft program that has one. Do you have such a
program?
If not you could try one of these:
Free spellchecker.

$15 shareware

Thanks for your help, Earl. I have Outlook Express and MSN mail. I
don't have any of the Microsoft programs that you listed. I may install
a freeware spell checker that will work with Outlook Express. Thanks
again for your assistance.

spell checker. I have Word Perfect with a spell checker, but it doesn't
work in my mail programs..
Thanks for giving me the addresses of freeware and shareware spell
checkers. I may install one of them. Thanks again.
