Margit;
Microsoft is removing Microsoft Virtual Machine from its websites and
stopping distribution because of a court order:
http://www.microsoft.com/java/
You can download Sun Java here:
http://java.sun.com/getjava/

Margit,
Sorry to ask this. Don't want to offend you but this is the new user's
group... After installing the download, did you check Internet Options>
Advanced and enable the JIT compiler? You don't have any firewalls, popup
blockers or antivirus blocking out all scripts do you?
Also - don't know which one you've tried. The MS or Sun. I haven't tried
Sun's yet but from what I've read, it adds an icon in Control Panel. You can
use the icon to enable/disable as needed.
