I want to upgrade from 98 to xp and was wondering if this
works correctly. Also will I lose any programs, files, or
settings when I upgrade. Please help. Thanks

Brandon;
Data and settings are normally intact after an upgrade.
It is a good idea to back-up important data just in case.
Check this link to be sure the computer is ready for Windows XP:
