We have 2 XP Pro desktops at home trying to make a
wireless Ad Hoc connection using Blitzz IEEE 802.11b
wireless usb adapters. The taskbar on both computers
offer 'safely remove hardware' on the adapters but the
device manager shows them working properly. Computer A
(the main & internet connection with Motorola Cable
Modem) can ping the IP of Computer B but cannot ping by
name and everytime we try to "view workgroup computers"
it locks up. If, after a long delay it does finally show
the workgroup it says we don't have the rights and to
contact the adminstrator (us). Computer B can also ping
itself but has 100% failure to ping A by IP or name.
Sometimes A shows up on the workgroup for B but it cannot
be accessed. We've used the network wizards, uninstalled
the wireless, reinstalled everything and still no
network. Any suggestions would be wonderful!
