I have had Win ME (hated it)
I upgraded to Windows XP Home (Loved it)
Now I upgraded again to Windows XP Pro.
I have all three versions here that were legally
purchesed by me.
My question is:
Can I deactivate Windows XP Home so that I can use it on
another computer?
I don't need to use the Windows XP Home for anything
anymore on my primary.
If I need to reinstall I can use the Windows ME to
qualify for registration.
On the other Computer I have Windows ME and I want to
upgrade to XP Home.
Is there a process I need to go through to do this??

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The only way to accomplish your goal is to reformat your drive
and install XP Pro "clean" using the Windows ME CD when
prompted for during setup. Then you can use XP Home to upgrade
your second computer. Or you can purchase the "full retail version"
of XP Pro to upgrade over XP Home and then use XP Home to
upgrade your second computer.

You cannot use XP Home on another computer if you upgrade it
to XP Pro using the upgrade version of XP Pro. XP Home serves
as the qualifying basis for XP Pro upgrade and becomes part of the
XP Pro upgrade license.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type in: EULA , and hit enter.
Click on "Questions and answers about the End User License Agreement"
for additional information.

Greetings --

If you retain your WinMe license to act as the qualifier for the
WinXP Pro Upgrade, then , yes, you can re-use, sell or give away the
WinXP Home Upgrade. There is, however, no "de-activation" process.

If it's been more than 120 days since you last activated that
specific WinXP Home Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you
might have to make a 5 minute phone call.

When (or if) you do transfer the WinXP Home to someone else,
simply include a brief document stating that you have removed the OS
from your PC (You have -- it's been overwritten by WinXP Pro). This
is just a precaution to protect the next owner of the WinXP Home
license, on the off-chance that questions should arise when he/she
attempts activation.

Greetings --

Nicholas, he's already freed up his WinXP Home license by
over-writing it with WinXP Pro, which is still "qualified" by the
original WinMe license. I don't see any need for him to format or to
purchase a full version of WinXP Pro. Granted, he'll need to have a
qualifying OS license on any addition PC on which he wishes to use the
WinXP Home, if it's an upgrade CD.
