I have just upgraded to XP from ME and most of my cd's I
burned using NTI CD maker aren't recognized. I can still
get the files to run on my laptop which uses ME but not
under XP. Any suggestions?

Is this problem unique only to disks burned with NTI CD Maker or does it
also happen with CDs burned with other software.
When you say you "upgraded from Me to XP" do you mean that you did an
inplace upgrade directly over Me or did you do a clean install of XP? If you
did an inplace upgrade you should have uninstalled NTI CD Maker first as it
is always prudent to uninstall CD Burning software prior to upgrading to XP
and then reinstall again after the upgrade if your version is supported by
XP.
Another question is whether your CD Burner is supported by XP - however most
are even older burners. You might want to check out Alex Nichols primer and
look in the Problems section for a possible fix
