I have recently noticed that connecting to my hard drive
shares on my Windows XP network has become slow (takes 20-
40 seconds from the time I click on a hard drive network
share until the directories in that share appear). If I
then back out and reconnect to the share it is fast but if
I wait a few minutes and then try to connect to my hard
share on the network it is once again slow.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? It was working
fine for the last year until a few days ago. I have tried
disconnecting and then remapping the hard drives, mapping
the hard drives to the IP address of the remote computer
rather than using the machine name etc. all to no avail.
This is so bad that I am considerng taking out all hard
drive shares becuase it slows down my computers so much.
Clicking on My Computer is painful when you have to wait
20-40 seconds for anything to show up.
