Since I've hooked up with Comcast cable internet Ive tried
to setup a home network. when i open network folder in
Control Panel nothing shows up. If i try networking wizard
it says i dont have administrative rights My user profile
is setup as admin and ive tried a new user account as
admin but it still wont let me do anything. I used to see
both my adapters and my 1394 connections in the folder.
Ive also installed Norton Internet securitys and a Linksys
router. Is there perhaps a setting in one or both of these
that is stopping my administrative rights or is it
possible that comcast has done something?

First make sure that your Network Connections Service and Remote Access
Connection Manager services are running. If they are then compare the LAN
connections in the connections folder with the Network Adapter drivers in
device manager. If there is a Network Adapter driver that doesn't have a
corresponding connection in the connections folder then try reinstalling it.
