Hi
I upgraded to XP over the weekend and as of yesterday,I
have no START menu or taskbar! It is not hidden, nothing
happens when I hit the windows key and nothing happens
when I go into my control panel and hit the info on the
taskbar. My daughter has her own sign in and she does
have them with no problems. Kooky, huh. HELP!

Hi, Aim.

When you move your mouse pointer to the very bottom of the screen, do you
see the top half of the double-pointing arrow? If so, hold down the left
button on your mouse and drag upward an inch or so. The taskbar may have
just been shrunk down to nothing. You can expand it to a single line (the
default) or to several lines high.

The taskbar may also have been moved to the top or a side of the screen
before it was shrunk to nothing, so try the mouse there if the arrow doesn't
show up at the bottom.

But, even with the taskbar shrunk to nothing, the Start menu should still
appear when you hit the Windows key. Are you the Administrator of your
computer?

Hi R.C. thanks for responding! I have checked all four
sides and it's just not there. Yes, I am the
administrator, although at this point, my eleven year old
does better then me and we may all be better off if I
assign her that duty!!! Any other ideas?? Thanks ~Aim
