welcome screen question

Ok .... know I've seen the answer to this in here before,
but I can't find it. How do I get rid of the "email alert"
on the welcome screen??

To remove the unread mail message from the welcome screen, open up regedit,
but going to Start -> Run and then type in regedit and then hit ok.
Now scroll down to this location
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\UnreadMail

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called
"MessageExpiryDays" without the quotes. And set the value as 0 to disable
it.
