View Full Version : How to verify data backed up to CD's

I use Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 to back up data files from time to time. I'm
running Windows XP.

Is there a way, easy or hard, to verify that the files were all backed up
accurately? Something similar to the Verify function on backup software.

The reason I ask is that a colleague used the Roxio program on his computer,
apparently got good backups (at least according to Roxio), but later found
that the backups were unusable.

It's probably tedious to check that all the files on your CD are OK but why
not try restoring a random handful of files and checking them manually? This
should give you some idea as to whether your backup is useful or not.
