Roll-over/Pop-up text

I'm trying to get rid of the annoying rollover text that
pops up as my mouse moves over entry fields, programs, or
anything else XP think it needs to describe to me. Any
ideas?

Tooltips. Some are provided by the operating system others by the program
that you see them in. See "Folder Options> View" for setting that controls
the popup description for folder and desktop items.

Tooltips within a program will sometimes have an on/off setting in one of
the user preferences menus.
