When we install office xp, my internet "favorites" were
saved to another of my family's user account. Is there a
way to transport them to my account short of our changing
accounts, which would be problematic in other respects?

You can simply copy over the shortcuts to your own FAVORITES folder
with the Explorer.

Favorites are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\<user account
name>\Favorites. So, go to the Favorites folder (from Windows Explorer) of
the other user and move the contents to your favorites folder.
