Hi.

I wonder if anyone can help me with a couple of problems
I'm having, please.

1/I've downloaded some logos from the net , but they
appear in the file as ?gif icons, which I can't seem to
open. Can anyone help me reconstitute the images, please?

2/ I've also downloaded a couple of web page templates,
which get broken down into their constituent parts in the
file and I can't seem to reassemble them.

The answers are probably very simple, but any help would
be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Trevor

1) GIF files are a pretty standard image type. What kind of problem are you
having with them? Try using Paint's File> Open. Or open them in Internet
Explorer. Will the images display in the programs when opened this way? A
nice program to use for various multimedia formats is IrFanView. It's free
and is quite versatile.

2) Web templates... these can vary so much depending on what program they
were designed for. If they are "web sets" then you will have individual
components to mix and match however you want. But if a "template" for a
specific web authoring program, the download may get used differently. For
example, most Front Page templates when installed are accessed via the
programs menus (New> Web> from template> select new template). Front Page
themes have the elements embedded in the .ELM file. It's possible to grab
the individual elements after applying the theme to a new web.

May want to head back to where you picked the template up at to see if there
are any special directions for its use.

You're welcome. You'll do fine with learning your way around GIFs, web
templates and web sets. It just takes a little time so be patient with
yourself. Good luck with this and enjoy :)
