Have a new system w/XP-Home loaded.

Question #1 - How to turnoff the pc speaker (noise when connecting to ISP)?

Question #2 - IS "Partition Magic" version 6.0 compatable with XP (NTFC
file system)?

Question #3 - A msg - Icon in systray says "Local area connection, a
network cable is unplugged". Since i'm on a modem, how do i get rid of
that icon in the taskbar?

Since i just got this XP, i'm sure there will be more questions in the
future.

Thanks,

clif

For me, the modem sound has never come through the speakers but from the
modem card itself. Go to Control Panel | Printers and other hardware |
Phone and Modem Options and click the Modems tab. Select the modem and
click Properties. From here it may depend on what modem you have, but if I
click the Modem tab on the new window I get a volume control.
