same issue. Go to Network Connections (Start ... Control
Panel ... Network & Internet Connections ... Network
Connections) and disable your Local Area Connection. You
don't need this if you're using a modem.

I'd imagine there's an option in the ISP software to turn
off the speaker though.

Thank you, Corissa. Thats two down, one to go.
BTW - #2 was a "NO". vs 7.0 and 8.0 will do it but not 6.0
